Editor's Note
Because the inscription of this mosque - located in the Selcuk district of Izmir, on the Izmir-Pamucak road at the exit of Selcuk - has not survived, its construction date cannot be established with certainty. From the architectural style of the mosque, recently restored, it is understood to have been built in the 14th century during the Aydinogullari period and repaired in later years. The mosque is square in plan, built of cut stone with brick courses. In front of it is a three-bay portico (last congregation place) where two columns and two piers are joined by round arches. Entered through a round-arched doorway, the mosque is covered by a dome on a high drum.
