Notion (or Notium) was an ancient Greek city-state on the west coast of Anatolia, about 50 km south of İzmir on the Gulf of Kuşadası. Set on a hill overlooking the sea, it served as the port for nearby Colophon and Claros, and pilgrims passed through on their way to the oracle of Apollo at Claros. Remains of its defensive walls, necropolis, temple, agora and theater survive near the modern town of Ahmetbeyli in the Menderes district of İzmir Province.
