Editor's Note
This is a 16th-century Ottoman work. The structure was built using rubble and cut stone in masonry technique. The cistern once supplied part of the water needs of Hocacihan, formerly a village. Today it has lost this function. The entrance above road level is designed in the form of an iwan, resting on piers with pointed arches. The main water-storage section of the cistern is rectangular in plan, covered by a vault, and built of rubble stone.
