Editor's Note
The Kiziloren Kucuk Han (Small Caravanserai) was probably built sometime between the early and mid-13th century, during the reign of Sultan Izzeddin Keykavus I or Keykubad I (Alaeddin Keykubad). It stands to the west of the Kiziloren district (today a neighborhood) of Meram, and to the east of the Kiziloren Han. It is a two-aisled caravanserai with neatly dressed stone on the facade and coursed rubble-stone walls on the sides, with a row of three piers down the middle. The caravanserai is entered on its north facade through a portal that projects outward. The portal has a pointed arch on the outside and a round arch on the inside. The three piers, joined to one another by pointed arches on a north-south axis, divide the building into two aisles.
