The Hıdrul Ahdar Mosque is thought to have been built in the early 12th century. One of the oldest mosques in Siirt, it is a single-domed mosque built of cut stone. After the Seljuk period, a two-domed space was added to the east of the building, turning its plan rectangular. On the north side there are two separate doorways, one opening into the prayer hall and the other into the later addition. These doorways were built with pointed arches, but in a later period the arched doors were closed off and converted into two small doors.
