Editor's Note
The Kenan Dede Yanik Mosque in its present form was built in the early 20th century; however, a structure known as the Kenan Dede Masjid is known to have existed on the same spot in 1646. The rectangular building measures 11.50 x 22.05 meters externally and extends perpendicular to the mihrab. The mosque consists of a rectangular prayer hall, an intermediate space later added to the north of the hall, and a wooden minaret. Rubble stone was used up to plinth level and adobe in the body walls, and the building was constructed using masonry technique. It is covered externally with a hipped roof.
