Köprübaşı Karakol Çeşmesi

According to its construction inscription, the Koprubasi Karakol Fountain was built by the local community in AH 1295 / 1878 CE. Located in Karatay, in the Zincirlikuyu neighborhood on Sedirler Street, in the area between the Koprubasi Police Station and the Koprubasi Mustafa Aga Mosque, the fountain was built single-faced, in a vertical rectangular form, with a pointed tangent arch and a single spout. The pointed tangent arch of the fountain, which is built of finely cut stone, rests on monolithic piers with chamfered corners. In the center of the fountain's pediment is a four-line construction inscription in talik script.
