It took this name because storks built their nests on it. It stood on Sarayköy Avenue. It was a mighty plane tree, at least 400-500 years old. According to a book by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, during a harsh winter in the 1930s its branches were cut and distributed to the poor, and the rest of the tree disappeared over the years. It is known that in Ottoman times there was a medrese beneath it and that Merkezefendi taught in this medrese.
