Antioch on the Maeander, earlier called Pythopolis, was a city of ancient Caria in Anatolia, near present-day Başaran in Aydın Province. It stood between the Maeander and Orsinus rivers near their confluence, by a bridge over the Maeander. Only scanty ruins remain today, on a hill a few kilometers from Kuyucak. The city was enlarged and renamed by Antiochus I and was home to the sophist Diotrephes.
