Editor's Note
Finik (ancient Pinaka) is an archaeological site in southeastern Turkey, on rocky cliffs overlooking the eastern bank of the Tigris, about 14 km upstream from Cizre. It is identified with the Pinaka mentioned by Strabo as a principal city of Gordyene; medieval Islamic writers called it Fenek or Fanak and described it as an impregnable fortress whose ruins still stand.
