Editor's Note
Construction: AH 1309 / AD 1892. According to its construction inscription, it was built by a man named Hacı Musa on 15 March 1892. The phrase "bani-i sani" (second builder) in the inscription text indicates that the present building was erected on the site of a mosque that had existed earlier. No information about the first mosque has been found in the sources. According to an account learned from the mosque's congregation, Hacı Musa, who had the mosque built, was a man who served as a customs guard. During his service, he obtained a large amount of plunder in an incident whose details are unknown.
