Editor's Note
See Dr. Ender Özbay, Turkish-Period Bridges in the Büyük Menderes, Küçük Menderes and Gediz Basins (pp. 169-179). The bridge, which dates to the Roman period, is 55.50 meters long, 3.40 meters wide, with arch spans of 5.50 meters. Built of spolia (reused material), the bridge has two round-arched openings. Spanning the Büyük Menderes River, the Dayılar Bridge is one of the bridges on the trade routes linking Apameia, Eumenia, Launda, Mossyna, Hierapolis and Laodikeia.
