The Governor's Mansion is located on Hükümet Avenue in the Gül neighbourhood of the Artuklu district of Mardin province, today just north of the Sakıp Sabancı Mardin City Museum. The building was constructed between 1896 and 1908. Built to serve as the governor's residence, it was later used as a carpet school, a private tutoring centre, a guesthouse and a hospital. Restored in 2010-2011, the building was returned to its original function and is now used as the Mardin Governor's Office. It is set on a sloping, polygonal site, oriented north to south.
