The 56th Street Abbara (a covered passageway) is located in the Teker neighbourhood of the Artuklu district of Mardin province. Built using masonry, both cut stone and rubble stone were used. Running north-to-south, the abbara has a rectangular plan. Following the slope, it is 14.10 m long, averages 2.34 m in height and is 2.10 m wide. Its entrances are pointed-arched on the north and round-arched on the south, and the passageway is covered with a barrel vault. The vault surfaces of the restored structure have been painted, and flaking, cracking and blistering are observed in the paint of these surfaces.
