Editor's Note
In a cave 23 metres long and 16 metres deep in the Gurs Valley near Uluköy village in the Kiziltepe district, 20 kilometres from Mardin, many cutting and piercing tools and flakes made of Palaeolithic flint were found. During excavations supported by the Kiziltepe District Governorate, under the scientific supervision of Dr. Esref Erbil, a faculty member of the Archaeology Department of the Faculty of Letters at Mardin Artuklu University, an archaeological layer roughly 4 metres thick was reached.
