Editor's Note
The deck is 42.8 m long, its outer width is 253 cm, the parapets average 25 cm in width, and the span of the main arch is 535 cm. In the records of the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, a parcel right next to the bridge is listed under the place name "Kahve Gediği" (Coffee Pass). This suggests that in the late Ottoman period there was a "coffee house" of the kind serving as a rest stop near the bridge, and therefore that the bridge lay on a busy route. Although H. Kiepert did not mark the bridge on his 1890 map, the brown lines showing his own itineraries make clear that he passed through here himself.
