Hıseynika Castle sits on a high hill roughly 1.70 km northwest of the Gülgöze (Aynverd) Neighborhood in the Midyat district of Mardin Province. Fortified to suit the terrain, the castle spreads across an area of 65.0 m east-west and 70.0 m north-south. Surveys of the site have identified a partly preserved double-tiered defensive wall encircling the hill, the traces of collapsed rooms, a workshop, a cistern and rock-cut dwellings.
