The Mor Hobil Mor Abrohom Monastery was founded in the 5th century AD in the Midyat district of Mardin by Mor Hobil and Mor Abrohom, who had studied at the Mor Gabriel Monastery. Containing two churches, a Syriac cemetery and a dome dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it remains in active use today.
