The monastery was registered on 23 September 2021 by the Directorate of the Diyarbakır Regional Council for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage. In the document prepared for the Mor Aho Monastery and Church, listed in 2021 among the registered structures requiring protection, the Directorate stated the following: "For the Mar Aho (Yukarı Dera) Monastery, recorded as privately owned shared property on plot 115 of block 113, under Article 6 of Law No. 2863..."
