The village of Andaç, where the church stands, is a former Nestorian settlement whose original name was Halmun. Today it is a village within the Uludere district. It lies just 3 km off the Hakkari–Şırnak highway, very close to the Iraqi border. The church was built on flat ground inside the village, with village houses to its north and south. Rectangular in plan and oriented east to west, it measures 16.11 by 21.80 meters. Built in two phases, the four rooms on the south side were added later to the original church. The main church consists of a nave and a kanki (sanctuary).
