Editor's Note
The ancient city of Apollonia and the Medet Mound lie within the settlement of Medet village, founded on a flat plain 7 km west of the Tavas district in Denizli province. Built on the most fertile lands of the Tavas plain, Apollonia was one of the ancient cities connected to the Caria region via the Tabae road to the west, to the Lycia region via the Sebastopolis road to the south, and to the Lycian and Phrygian regions via the Tavas road to the east. No definitive documents about the founding of Apollonia have been found.
