Editor's Note
Above the entrance gate is a repair inscription dated 1283. It is reported that the mosque was earlier a small building, reaching its present form through later additions; that its flat earthen roof was covered in 1929 with a hipped roof clad in corrugated sheet metal; and that it was repaired in 1954, 1960 and 1985. Its three-line inscription in Latin letters reads "Karamanoğlu İbrahim Bey Mosque, Date of Construction 1252." This inscription refers not to the building's construction but to its repair. It probably marks a repair, dated AH 1283 / AD 1866, to the façade where the inscription was placed or to the prayer hall.
