According to the inscription above its door, the mosque was built in AH 1282 / AD 1865, and its minaret in AH 1296 / AD 1878. In its Arabic inscription, the names of the labourers Ahmet and Mustafa who worked on the mosque's construction are notable. The inscription also reads: "O God who opens doors, open Your doors to us in goodness."
