Editor's Note
İncir Han is a royal caravanserai (Sultan Han) commissioned in 1238-39 by the Anatolian Seljuk Sultan Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev II. It lies on the Antalya-Burdur caravan route, about 88 km north of Antalya and roughly 3 km from the village of İncirdere. The han sits in a fertile valley, on the road running northward from the foothills of Kocadağ. It is the stop following Susuz Han, preceded by the Kırkgöz, Evdir, Susuz and the now-lost Ağlasun caravanserais. An inscription over the entrance gate, written in four lines of nesih script in the Seljuk style, records the date of construction and the patron.
