Editor's Note
This is an example of the wooden-columned mosques of the 16th-century Ottoman period. The inscription that was above the entrance door has now been placed on the mihrab crown. According to the inscription, the building was constructed in AH 936 / AD 1529-30 in the name of Hacı Recep, son of Pir Mehmed, as a school for the teaching and recitation of the Holy Quran. On the south facade of the mosque there is an inscription dated AH 1250 / AD 1834-35 that is known to belong to a barracks.
