Editor's Note
The building has no inscription. However, the palmette motifs seen in the hand-painted ceiling decoration of the main prayer hall and the naturalistic-style floral arrangements make it readily clear that it is an 18th-century Ottoman mosque. Moreover, the fact that the building sits nearly 2 metres below today's ground level, together with its architectural design featuring a wooden-columned ceiling system, are features supporting the view that it is an old mosque, roughly 250-300 years old.
