Editor's Note
Built of finely cut stone, the mosque's exterior facing was almost entirely replaced following repairs. A minaret was added to the southwest corner of the mosque in 1978. The minaret has the typical features seen in 20th-century Mersin minarets. Apart from the worn rosettes on the pediments and the decorative motifs on the entrance arch and inscription panel, the mosque has no ornamentation.
