According to its inscription, it was built in 1807 by the friends of Hacı Mehmet Bey. The inscription reads: "Hac-ı Muhammed Bik bi-tevfik-i Hüda / Rah-ı kastâle idub mâlın fedâ / Merhum oldukda ânın ahbâbı / Kıldı bu çeşme-i bâki inşâ / Ki ana hayırla Hâki tarih / Eylesin nûş ola anlara şifâ / In the year 1222 (1807)."
