Editor's Note
Pedasa, also known as Pedasus or Pedasum, was an important town of ancient Caria that had attained the status of a polis (city-state) by around 400 BCE. Considered one of the region's most strategic sites, it lost its independence when Alexander the Great handed it over to the Halicarnassians together with five other neighbouring towns.
