Editor's Note
The statue was loaded onto a ship called HMS Supply by a team led by Charles Thomas Newton and, together with all the other artefacts found during the Knidos excavations, was carried off to London. The Knidos Lion, now displayed in the British Museum, once stood at the very top of the structure here that is believed to have been a monumental tomb.
