Editor's Note
The Apkaryan School, known today as the Nuri Has Arcade, was built in 1880 by the Apkaryan Association. When first built, the building began to be used by the upper-grade students sent here because the classrooms at the nearby Aramyan School had become overcrowded. By 1883 the school had five classrooms rather than four, and a large hall as well as a large courtyard formed part of the building.
