Editor's Note
The old name of the site referred to as Kürek Castle is unknown. However, judging from the surface finds, the castle and settlement must date to the Byzantine period. The castle, a church, a water source, wall remains on the slopes, and architectural remains on the flat ground show that this was an ancient city. The building materials used were ashlar and brick, with rubble as fill and, in small amounts, marble. Source: Osmaniye Governorship.
