Editor's Note
Süleyman's Tower is an Ottoman building on the Mediterranean coast in Adana's Yumurtalık district. It was built in 1536 during the reign of Süleyman the Magnificent as a sea-observation tower, intended to give early warning against pirate raids on the then-busy port of Ayas. The pentagonal, two-storey structure has narrow observation windows and is also known as the "armed Ayas tower."
