Bargasa was an ancient city on the Gulf of Kerme (Djova-Gökova) in the Caria region. Old maps placed it at present-day Gökova-Akyaka. However, epigraphic studies (the reading of inscriptions) carried out around 1885 revealed that the ruins there belonged to the city of Idyma. My website contains thorough information on the history of Idyma. So then, where was Bargasa? I carried out long research on this question but found no answer. We also discussed and debated the matter with Şadan Gökovalı, but reached no conclusion.
