The pyramidal tomb known for years by local people as the Tomb of Çağ Baba was revealed through research to be a monumental tomb dating to the 2nd–3rd century BC. The tomb's inscription reads as follows: "You white-toothed beasts, always keep to the place appointed for you. For I, on high, shall watch over everything, so that no cowardly man may come and harm the tomb. For this is the tomb of a man named Diagoras, who died in battle, and of his wife — comparable to the gods, surpassing all in her devotion to her husband through the raising of exemplary children, whom her father named Aristomakha."
