Editor's Note
It was built over the Dalaman River by the direct order of Atatürk after the local people wrote to him in the 1930s expressing their need for a bridge. Built in the style shared by many bridges constructed in the early years of the Republic, the bridge was designed by the French, and the construction was also carried out by the French.
