Editor's Note
Considering the area where the structure near Çandır Village stands, along with its building materials, technique, and plan features, it would be reasonable to argue that it is a work surviving from the Ottoman period, from the 19th century, to the present day. Two adjoining vaulted structures were identified to the northeast of Akiye Point, which bounds the northern side of the shore. The well-preserved structures sit about 20–30 m inland from the shore. To the northwest of the structures lies a flat tract of land, roughly 100 x 150 m, used as an olive grove.
