The first floor of the building was constructed by the French in 1924 and the second floor in 1926. It opened for education as a Girls' College (Convent School). After the founding of the State of Hatay, it was renamed the 10th Primary School. After Hatay became a province of the Republic of Turkey, by a decision of the Provincial General Assembly the school was given the name Mithat Pasha Primary School on September 1, 1939.
