Editor's Note
Built as an inn in 1574 by Sokullu Mehmet Pasha as a charitable endowment, the building was constructed side by side with the Saka Bath and the Mahremiye Mosque, forming a group of three structures that functioned as a complex (kulliye). Used as a soap workshop in the 19th century, the inn ceased operations in 1969. Today, known as Defne Han, the building has been repurposed, and it houses shops selling clothing, glassware, and cosmetic products.
