Editor's Note
The Beyseri Bath is a Mamluk structure dated to the late 13th century that was in operation in Antakya during the 18th and 19th centuries. Since there are no primary sources such as an endowment deed or a building inscription, its dating can only be made with the help of written and visual sources. The works of Dr. Fuat Sanci, Prof. Ataman Demir, and the historian Mehmet Tekin state that the bath is a late 13th-century structure. The building, recorded in the sources as the Beyseri Bath, takes its name from Sultan Baybars's foster brother, named Bi'seri.
