Editor's Note
This memorial and monument, built for Bekir Tankut and Mustafa Sevgi, who were martyred on 31 December 1936 in the clash that broke out in the area around the Habib-i Neccar Mosque during the struggle waged by young Turks against the French in the course of Hatay's annexation to the motherland, is located within the Antakya Modern Cemetery. The monument and some of the graves were damaged in the 6 February earthquake.
