Editor's Note
The porches on the eastern and western sides of the mosque, said to have been built in 1912 by Nüzhet Pasha during the reign of Sultan Mehmed Reşad, are supported by columns in the Corinthian style, with capitals and bases. These columns, carved from marble and limestone, were repurposed from ancient ruins in the Silifke region. The mosque, built of cut stone, has a wooden hipped roof. In the center of the prayer hall, a dome rests on four wooden posts. Its inscription states that it was built in 1312 of the Rumi calendar (1896–1897 AD) and given its name in 1328 (1912–1913 AD).
