Built in 1938 as a state hospital, the building served as the chief physician's office after the new hospital building was constructed in 1961; later, for many years, it was used as a Tuberculosis Dispensary and Central Health Clinic. As of 2020 it is the chief physician's office. It is an example of the buildings of the First National Architecture movement.
