Construction of the building, an example of the First National Architecture movement, began in 1926 and was completed in 1928 to serve as the residence of the Governor of İçel. When the İçel provincial administration moved to Mersin in 1933, Silifke was reduced to district status, and the governor's mansion was used for a time as the town hall, as various municipal departments, as a health vocational high school, as a music and culture association, and as a vocational college; later, until 2020, it served as the Youth and Arts Center of the Silifke Municipality Culture Department…
