Editor's Note
Kabaçam (Kabaşam) is an archaeological site of a historic settlement in the rural Erdemli district of Mersin Province, dated to the late Roman period. Its ancient name is unknown, but the nearby Hisarın Castle about two kilometres to the west suggests the area was an important settlement at the time. Among its many building remains are basilica-type churches, dwellings, workshops, sarcophagi and the ruin of a tower.
