The four-line inscription above the entrance gate of the church inside the Cennet (Heaven) Sinkhole states that the church was built in the 5th century by a pious man named Paulus and dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The roofless church is reached at the 300th of the 452 steps that descend into the Cennet Sinkhole.
