Editor's Note
Susanoğlu, today a holiday resort at the 15th kilometre of the Silifke-Mersin highway, bore the ancient name Corasion. The Late Roman city was founded by Flavius Uranius, governor of Isauria (367-375). An inscription found above the main western entrance gate of the city, once entirely surrounded by walls, reads: 'Living under the rule of our princes Valentinian, Valens and Gratian, Flavius Uranius, the renowned governor of the province of Isauria, built this deserted place to his own taste, meeting all the costs himself.'
