Editor's Note
The great majority of the remains surviving from the city of Sidyma date to the Roman period. The city is enclosed by walls built to follow the terrain. The Temple of Artemis, the theatre, the bath and the stoa, whose columns are still standing, all preserve their former beauty. The rock-cut tombs in the cemetery area are among the important works of Lycian funerary architecture. There is also a church built in the Byzantine period.
