In the Yoğunoluk neighborhood, once an Armenian settlement, it is known that there was a school registered to the Protestant community and licensed in 1902. A document dated 1913 records that Yoğunoluk also had a monastery, a place of worship, and a school belonging to the Franciscan friars.
