Editor's Note
Seleucia Pieria, also known as Seleucia by the Sea, was a Hellenistic town that served as the seaport of Antioch on the Orontes, the Seleucid capital, near modern Antakya. Built just north of the Orontes estuary on the western slopes of the Amanus Mountains, its ruins lie around the Çevlik and Mağaracık areas of the Samandağ district, a region known for its many caves.
